The Winter Lantern Festival in Tysons runs Fridays through Sundays until February 18. The walk-through includes over 1,000 handmade Chinese lanterns, perfect for your next Instagram photo op. 100 Years of Black Music in the Nationโ€™s Capital

Musician and historian Ken Avis uses film clips and recordings to celebrate the rich African American popular music culture that took root with jazz, reverberated to the sound of rhythm and blues and pumped up the funk and soul. He describes how home-grown artists carried the sound of DC to Motown, Philly, and beyond. A free program compliments of the Loudoun County Public Library!
